  1. A:  Well, I think that like other outstanding poets 
  2. there is some mysterious conflux of imaginative 
  3. energies that come together in a personality and 
  4. make a Yeats, or John Berryman, or Shakespeare 
  5. or a Marshall McLuhan. I think that question is a 
  6. little more reasonable if you think of him as a 
  7. social analyst or a communications analyst. There 
  8. are lots of those. There aren‚Äôt so many people that 
  9. have that brilliant capacity to flash into a verbal 
  10. insight that is arresting. That‚Äôs what the poet 
  11. does. And there aren‚Äôt many poets.
